Case Study: Immobilise supports North Wales Police Neighbourhood Policing Conference

Highlighting the Role of Prevention and Property Registration

North Wales Police brought together around 400 officers and staff for a two-day Neighbourhood Policing and Prevention Conference, focused on tackling current challenges and improving how policing is delivered at a local level.

The event centred on practical approaches to prevention. Sessions explored how officers can use available tools, data, and partnerships to reduce crime, support investigations, and improve outcomes for communities.

Supporting Officers with the Right Tools

A key focus was ensuring officers are equipped with tools that help prevent and investigate crime more effectively. This included expanding the use of property registration through Immobilise and the NMPR (National Mobile Property Register).

Chief Inspector Ian Roberts from the Force Prevention Hub highlighted the importance of these tools:

“Neighbourhood Policing continues to play an important role in how we address anti-social behaviour and crime across the region. Events like this help ensure our officers are confident in using the resources available to them and informed about current preventative and investigative approaches. Expanding the use of tools such as Immobilise and the National Mobile Property Register (NMPR) supports our work with partner organisations to reduce crime and protect the public.”

Working Together for Safer Communities

The conference also brought together partner organisations, reinforcing the role of joined-up working in achieving long-term results.

Using tools like Immobilise alongside police systems gives officers a practical way to link recovered items to owners, support investigations, and reduce the resale of stolen property. For community safety teams, it also provides a simple message to share with the public: make property identifiable and register it.

Supporting community safety initiatives

Immobilise continues to support police-led initiatives by providing a free national property register that feeds directly into NMPR. When items are registered with clear identifying details, it becomes easier for police to trace ownership and return property.

For officers working in neighbourhood policing and crime prevention roles, this offers a low-cost, scalable way to improve recovery rates and deter theft.
