Ross Stewart
Non-Executive Chairman & Co-Founder
Ross started his working life at the age of fifteen as an apprentice at British Nuclear Fuels. He worked his way through various colleges, eventually graduating from Cranfield University in 1969 with an MSc in Industrial Engineering. After Cranfield he worked for a company making industrial ball valves until, in 1972, he started his own company to design and manufacture automation equipment for valves in all types of industries. The business grew and when he sold it in 1999 to a large American company it had operations in many parts of the world including the USA which was its biggest market outside of Europe.
In the mid 1990's he discovered the internet and with the help of Les Gray, a computer wiz kid who worked for the company at the time, developed an early web site for the company. This interest in the web was ever present and when Adrian approached him with the idea of using the internet for mobile phone security he believed it to be a winning idea and also that Adrian had the drive and tenacity to ensure its eventual success.
Ross is involved in other businesses on a non executive basis. His family and grandchildren are his main interest. He enjoys DIY and always has a new project on the go. He plays a little golf, sails occasionally and likes to ski.
